Mt. Kaputar National Park, New South Wales

Remnants of an extinct volcano and altitudes over 1500m present the beauty of the alpine environment amongst the ruggedness of a geologically violent past. Warrumbungles National Park, New South Wales

A beautiful region of volcanic plugs and dykes exposed after the vocanic cones have eroded. Fantastic views of the entire national park and mountains are seen from the numerous bushwalks available. Grampians National Park, Victoria

A beautiful and popular national park in eastern Victoria was ravaged by bushfires at the end of 2005. Like a "Pheonix from the Ashes", nature rebuilds itself despite the devastation. Not much colour, but beauty amidst disaster.
